History

Sword was founded in Ireland in the late 90s by Diarmuid Smyth and became the leading supplier of crowd management and event security services in the country before expanding into the UK market in 2006.

The UK operations grew quickly due to the quality of service and professionalism and in 2011 was awarded the contract for Crowd Management and Stewarding for the Olympic Park and other LOCOG venues for the London Olympic Games.

In 2013 Sword acquired Lowell security and launched in Canada and is now a leading provider of services to the sports and entertainment sector in Toronto as well as having operations in Northern Ontario under the Lowell brand.

The company is a major player in the Global Events and sports sector with operations across 3 continents – from Ireland and the UK to Canada, United States and Brazil.
