NHL Centennial Classic

The NHL Centennial Classic was a regular season outdoor National Hockey League (NHL) game that was held on January 1, 2017. The game featured our own Toronto Maple Leafs taking on the Detroit Red Wings at BMO Field. This was the first time an NHL outdoor game was played in Toronto

Announced on March 9, 2016, the game served as a celebration of the centennial season of the Maple Leaf’s, and the beginning of the NHL’s centennial year. Sword were on hand to secure the load in of this ambitious project to turn a soccer field into a world class hockey rink by providing asset protection and access control 24 hours a day, on alumni and regular season game day we provided in access of 300 guards for the events which seen a foot fall of approx 80,000 people over the two days.
